Legal requirement for Marriage in Australia
A Notice of Intended Marriage form must be lodged with your
celebrant between eighteen months and no
later than one
full calendar month prior to the date of
your ceremony.
On completion of this form, the
document can be faxed, however, the originals must
also be sent for them to be sighted by me. This
notice can also only be witnessed by those mentioned
on the back of this form e.g. medical practitioner,
J.P., etc

Sometime prior to the ceremony, we need to see these
ORIGINAL documents:
- Both Birth Certificates
- If either party has been previously
married, evidence of dissolution
- Divorce documents (decree nisi)
- Death certificate
- On your wedding day, two witnesses
over the age of 18 years who are present
and attend the ceremony.
